BLISS Rendezvous 2008

July 11,12 and 13th, 2008

Greenport, Long Island New York

updated 11/18/08 (Pictures)

This year's BLISS Rendezvous was held in Greenport NY. We would like to thank our major sponsors Hellier Yachts and Eastern Yachts, as well as Island Packet for all the support!

The Island Packet navy started arriving on Friday morning. There had been sightings in Block Island and Three Mile Harbor as early as Wednesday of boats making the passage to Greenport. By Friday night most of the 27 boat flotilla had arrived and the crew went ashore to enjoy "dinner and cocktails in the park". A number of boats brought food and beer, local Long Island wine and pizza were added to the menu.

Saturday morning brought a class on diesel engine maintenance and a round table discussion for the women sailors. Each group gained a lot of tips for future use.  The rest of the day was spent touring the town and shopping. Saturday night the group gathered at the Loft for dinner. There was a door prize give away of our sponsors wares. Please take a look at our sponsors link page (BLISS 2008  Sponsors). The event was extremely successful.

At this point there are no planning activities for next year. The thought is to make it a mini- vous. Stay tuned. Thanks to all who attended.

For those that would be interested in organizing future rendezvous drop a note to the ganizers@blissrendezvous.com
